Who Are We?

The Good Kitchen is an initiative of the KellyDeli Foundation. Launched in 2016, the KellyDeli Foundation is an independent UK charity (registration number 1168207) whose aim is to tackle food poverty through supporting entrepreneurial ideas

We believe that to tackle food poverty we need to build a better food system. The current food system is not fit for purpose and creates many problems:

50% of the world’s population suffers from malnutrition. One billion people are undernourished, one billion suffer from food-related deficiencies, and 1.4 billion are overweight or obese.

The current practices in agriculture impoverishes soils, increasingly consumes, pollutes and depletes groundwater and emits around 30% of global greenhouse gases.

The KellyDeli Foundation was founded by food entrepreneurs Jerome Castaing and Kelly Choi.  Having built a successful food company, KellyDeli, and brand, Sushi Daily, Jerome and Kelly wanted to use their skills and resources to make a difference in the lives of others.

Our partners

The Good Kitchen grew out of hundreds of conversations with charities, social enterprises, policy makers and businesses who were all passionate about tackling food poverty and food insecurity. Their ideas and inputs have been invaluable in shaping the programme.
